Have a South African attorney review this page before you rely on it.

Bonaco (bonaco.co.za) is an online directory that connects customers with local service providers in South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible

The responsible party is Bonaco, contactable at Bonaco.co.za@gmail.com. Our information officer can be reached at the same address.

What we collect

Why we use it

Who we share it with

When you request a quote, we share your name, phone number, suburb and job description with one or more providers in your area. This is the purpose of the service, and you agree to it when you tick the box on the form. We also use service companies that host the site and store form submissions, such as Netlify. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep customer requests for up to 12 months and provider details while the listing is active and for up to 5 years for accounting records. We then delete or de-identify them.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may object to us using it. Email Bonaco.co.za@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information. Providers who receive your details are responsible for using them only to respond to your request.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
